spiritual gifts
I found this article on spiritual gifting very helpful, it points to every Christian being able to receive gifting for the ministry they happen to be engaged in. The examination of Paul's teaching is a little bit ambiguous however the principle that we are all gifted spiritually is empowering. the link is,

Long time no see, it helps if I log on. Just a thought about bible study, I have not had the discipline to learn a bible chapter in total I dont mean parrot fashion but understanding meaning and flow. I have been doing evening office and for the last month 1 corinthians has been the epistle. I began reviewing the readings previous to the current day early in the chapter and it soon became a habit becoming easier each night through familiarity. What an easy way to learn a chapter, I finally have an overview of the chapter and can think about its structure and can start to delve into Paul's headspace a bit. Happy word exploration..Ed.

global economic crices
note plural of crisis, Alister Palmer who launched ESM in Tasmania is heavily involved in the Transition movement in England and sent links in a recent e-mail which have some positive pathways towards a new paradigm which is sustainable. The Great Transition work and Steve Keen are essential reading/listening. enjoy!! Here is an excerpt from Alister's letter...
The global financial
situation is very grim and Europe is imploding which is already having a major
impact on us – there are now over 1 million young people between 16 and 24
unemployed in the UK – stats published this week.
Given that we are at the
end of growth a whole new economic model is needed. The New
Economics Foundation here as done some good work on that – see http://www.neweconomics.org/
and scroll to The Great Transition (free download).
I continue to enjoy Prof
Steve Keen’s work – he is over this way at the moment – a great interview at http://www.renegadeeconomist.com/blog/video/in-conversation-with-steve-keen.html.
Carolyn Baker’s work
Navigating the Coming Chaos which addressed the psychological aspects is very
helpful – it’s a great companion to the transition movement work.
Her website is http://carolynbaker.net/.
The attached document On
the Cusp of Collapse by David Korowicz is one of the best I’ve come across explaining the physics.
I wondered whether you know of
Alan Hirsch’s work – if not have a look at his series of Forgotten Ways videos
at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3Lt9hk9fiU&feature=related.

bible verses for new age
John 1:14 (KJV)
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Ephesians 2:8 NIV
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God
9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Jeremiah 10:23-25 (The Message)
I know, God, that mere mortals can't run their own lives,
That men and women don't have what it takes to take charge of life.
So correct us, God, as you see best.
Don't lose your temper. That would be the end of us.
Vent your anger on the godless nations, who refuse to acknowledge you,
Jeremiah 10:23 NIV
23 I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps.
Isaiah 45:18 NIV
18 For this is what the LORD says
he who created the heavens,
he is God;
he who fashioned and made the earth,
he founded it;
he did not create it to be empty,
but formed it to be inhabited
he says:
"I am the LORD,
and there is no other.
Luke 10:18 NIV
18 He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
18 For this is what the LORD says
he who created the heavens,
he is God;
he who fashioned and made the earth,
he founded it;
he did not create it to be empty,
but formed it to be inhabited
he says:
"I am the LORD,
and there is no other.
Luke 10:18 NIV
18 He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
John 15 NIV
5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8 This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
Isaiah 45
23 By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear.
24 They will say of me, 'In the LORD alone are righteousness and strength.' " All who have raged against him will come to him and be put to shame.
Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.
